Minority Health Month (NMHM) is observed every April to raise awareness about health disparities affecting racial and ethnic minority communities, focusing on improving health outcomes, promoting health equity, and reducing the disproportionate burden of chronic illnesses like diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension. It's a national effort led by the NIH's National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD) and the CDC's Office of Minority Health (OMH) to encourage culturally relevant solutions, community engagement, and better access to care.
