Meet Team CKF for Leadville 100 MTB 2026

  • Sven Anderson

Sven comes from a background in endurance sports, where resilience, discipline, and mental toughness were forged early through cross-country and track. Those foundations led him back to cycling, and ultimately to the challenge of the Leadville 100 MTB.

After completing Leadville for the first time, Sven is returning for a second year to once again ride in support of CKF. The Foundation’s mission to promote organ donation awareness and healthy living through sport gives deeper meaning to the miles, and reinforces his belief that endurance is most powerful when it serves something greater than personal achievement.

Sven lives in Dallas, TX with his wife and two children. He works in global trade consulting. As a father, he strives to lead by example, setting ambitious goals, committing fully to the work, and showing up when it matters most.

  • Joshua Ross

Growing up in Indiana, Joshua’s love for mountains came from his father, Jerall. Trips to different terrains and mountain tops - even a hut-to-hut mountain bike trip through the San Juans, helped Joshua discover a passion for climbing on his bike.

Eight years ago, Joshua was diagnosed with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC), a chronic liver disease that affects his bile ducts. There is no cure for PSC except a liver transplant. Organ donation is not just a cause Joshua supports—it is his lifeline.

Living with this condition has been challenging, but Joshua’s wife, Eunice, has been his anchor. And riding his bike helps him process what he is facing. If completing 100 miles in Colorado's thin air encourages just one person to join the donor registry, it will be worth every pedal.

Joshua has been focusing on his health and fitness, but a race like Leadville once seemed impossible—until he discovered CKF. Learning that Chris also had PSC and completed this race was the motivation Joshua needed to challenge himself.

Joshua is riding to show his kids, June and Quinn, that great achievements require dedication and hard work. Eunice and Joshua will be matching each donation dollar-for-dollar, proving we can thrive, adapt, and give back—one climb at a time.

  • Evan Hinkel

Evan is 38 years old, married, and has two young girls (2 & 4).

He has always been interested in the outdoors, but started cycling and competing in triathlons after moving to Houston after college. After completing his first full Ironman, he really learned the benefits of hard work and training to stretch the limits of what he used to think was unachievable.

After moving to Fort Worth in 2019, Evan found a community of other cyclists and started gravel and mountain biking. In 2023, he made his first attempt at the Leadville Stage Race, but crashed out on the third day with a broken collarbone. He luckily returned in 2025 to finish the stage race, and now hopes to complete the full LT100MTB in 2026!

After reading about Chris' story and reading the bios of all the other team members for the LT100MTB, Evan thought Team CKF looked like a great group of people that want to help lift other people up and help in any way they can! To him, the CKF Team looks like a great group of people that like to help others achieve their goals!

  • Smiling man with a beard after finishing Leadville 100

    Evandre Molina

Rafael Evandre Molina Gomez was born and raised in Costa Rica, where he was a tour guide for whitewater rafting, zip-lining, rappelling waterfalls, mountain biking, and nature hikes.

Evandre met his love, Sarah, when she was doing medical training in Costa Rica. They dated long distance for 2 years, before getting married and moving to the US.

Evandre and Sarah moved to Charleston, SC, had two babies in 3 years, and moved to Chattanooga.

Evandre is a cycling coach for middle and high school teams. His son is a team member, and his daughter will join next year. For Evandre, this is the best part of riding—the fact that he can do it with his kids.

Evandre had such a blast racing with Team CKF in 2025 that he is back again for 2026!

  • Andy Golden

Racing the Leadville 100 is not just about finishing one of toughest mountain bike races in the world for Andy, but it is racing for a purpose. Andy is racing for CKF as he believes in what is stands for: hope and second chances!

Andy notes that the hours of training and exhaustion that races like this bring, remind him how lucky he is to have his health and the opportunity to push himself to his limits. He wants to use that privilege to raise awareness and support others.

The Leadville 100 has always represented more for Andy, and with every mile he plans to celebrate the gift of life, challenge himself, and help promote the Foundation’s work to raise awareness.

    Paul Aschkenasy

Paul is back with Team CKF, chasing his first Leadville finish after a “pretty decent crash” in Leadville 2024! Leadville is a race that has always been on his bucket list, and he is ready to tick it off with the help of CKF. The crash was a setback and the recovery was brutal, but he is ready to push himself out of his comfort zone.

When Paul decided to race again, he knew immediately he wanted to race with CKF and race for a bigger purpose, raising awareness for donation. He loved the sense of community and shared purpose he experienced on the team in 2024, and wanted to have that again as he shoots for the finish line this year.

Paul has raced numerous challenges in his life including five Ironman events!

  • A man wearing a cycling helmet and a black cycling jersey with the logos 'Aspen Pro Cycling' and '#IamInIt', smiling and giving a thumbs up, at a cycling event with other people in the background.

    Dean Hill

Dean is racing with CKF again this year to raise awareness for the cause, and support Paul in his bid to finish his first Leadville 100! Dean has been a long time supporter of the Foundation, and has helped numerous riders complete the Leadville 100 and other races.

Dean began biking in Australia, including securing national level placing in BMX, followed by road racing at the elite level.

After a 10-year break, and a move to the United States, he began racing elite in mountain bike cross country and endurance, which has seen him compete in numerous single and multi-day events across the globe.

Since 2009, Dean has been a top-level coach, working with a mix of World Tour Professionals, domestic pros, and amateurs. Each year, he kindly supports Team CKF by hosting a coaching session with our racers to help them over the line!

    Alex Loeffler

Alex has been a supporter of CKF for years, and has raced on the CKF Leadville 100 MTB numerous times, and will be racing Unbound Gravel for a second time in 2026.

As Chris’s good friend, Alex has been continually inspired by the gift of life and the effect it has on not only the recipient but also their loved ones and friends.

Alex lives in Minnesota but regularly visits Colorado to support CKF and train with his buddy, Chris.

Alex is excited to take up the challenge again in 2026!

    Chris Klug

In 2003, Chris used $3,000 out of his own pocket to start the Chris Klug Foundation.

Chris was a professional snowboard racer when he was placed on the National Transplant Waiting List after being diagnosed with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC), a rare degenerative bile duct condition. He spent six years on the waitlist, critical for the last three.

On July 28, 2000, Chris received his liver transplant, and said, “It was like a new engine was dropped in me!” Six weeks later, he was back on his snowboard, and had the opportunity to represent the USA at the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he won a bronze medal.

During Chris’s time on the waiting list, he promised himself he would do everything he could to spread the message of organ, eye, and tissue donation once he was able.

Chris is back with vengeance this year after experiencing his first Leadville DNF in 15 years due to a crash in 2025. He is ready to cross the line for the 15th time!

  • A male cyclist wearing a green and yellow jersey, black shorts, and a helmet crosses a finish line with a mountain bike. The cyclist appears happy, with spectators and race banners in the background. An electronic timer displays the race time.

    Jon Gibans

Jon has been an ER Physician for over 21 years, and is an avid cyclist, skier, and mountaineer.

Jon has summited two 8000-meter peaks: Gasherbrum II in Pakistan in 1994, and Mount Everest in 2003. He has summited Denali twice (including working as a volunteer doctor on the mountain for the National Park Service), has taken part in six expeditions in South America, and five other Himalayan expeditions, including skiing from over 7000 meters (23,000 ft) twice.

Jon is a great friend of Chris Klug and has served on the CKF Board since its inception. He has been inspired by Chris’s story and the message he sends to everyone on the transplant waitlist.

Jon is aiming to finish his 25th Leadville 100!

    Daniel Callaghan

Dan grew up in a small town north of Pittsburgh, PA. He went to college at Boston College, completed medical school at Georgetown University, and moved back to Boston to finish his residency and fellowship program in dermatology and Mohs surgery.

Six years ago, Dan moved to Colorado with his wife, Maggie. Their toddler, Aria, already loves going for bike rides in the trailer.

Specializing in skin cancer surgery, Dan deals with a large number of post-transplant patients who are at a higher risk for skin cancer.

Dan road with CKF both in 2024 and 2025, and is excited to come back again for his third Leadville as an experienced team member, and soon-to-be second-time dad!

  • Kyle McMahon

Kyle is riding the 2026 Leadville 100 MTB with the Chris Klug Foundation team because he wants the work he puts in to matter beyond a finish time. He is new to MTB racing, is training hard from Iowa, and he is using this race to start conversations people usually avoid. Supporting a great cause builds additional purpose for the rigorous training required for the race.

The Leadville 100 has been on Kyle’s bucket list for years, he he has been busy building a family and several businesses. One day, Tim O’Donnel told hiim, “Just do it. You’re not getting younger!” Coming from a guy who suffered a heart attack during a triathlon and still finished, Kyle ponied up and chose to ride with CKF!

Kyle is an avid hunter, snowboarder, and former motocross racer with a passion for agriculture. He runs a heavy equipment software company and farm in Iowa. His wife and 4 kids will be cheering him on to his first Leadville 100 MTB finish.

  • Peter Louras

Peter is an endurance athlete, father, and clinical psychologist dedicated to human performance and resilience.

Peter began racing as a teenager, competing in running and mountain biking events before moving into collegiate cycling. After graduating, he biked across the US in 50 days, and that ride sparked a lifelong connection with endurance.

Professionally, Peter serves as an attending Psychologist with the U.S Department of Veterans Affairs, specializing in rehabilitation and resilience. He works to help veterans recover from trauma, illness, and injury, while guiding them to rediscover their identity and purpose.

Peter previously worked directly on organ transplant teams, providing psychological assessments and supporting donors, recipients, and families. Those experiences left a lasting impression and respect for the transplant journey, and the transformative gift of donation.

As a father, Peter hopes to show his two children that dedication matters, and real success comes from courage and compassion. Through this race, he will honor those awaiting transplant, celebrate those who have received the gift of life, and ride for a cause that embodies the very spirit of endurance.

  • Will Snyder

Will lives and rides in Boise, ID, and works in real estate development with a focus on affordable housing. He grew up ski racing and competed collegiately, which laid the foundation for his athletic background.

Since college, Will has continued pursuing endurance challenges including gravel races like Rebecca's Private Idaho, a Half Ironman, and trail running races. Mountain biking has been constant throughout his life. It is his primary way to exercise and spend time outdoors outside of ski season.

With the Leadville 100 being one of the world's most iconic and demanding bike races, Will wants to give meaning to the countless training hours and the gritty race day by raising funds for a charity whose mission he wholeheartedly supports.

While Will’s family has not been directly affected by organ donation or transplantation, he deeply respect the impact this work has on individuals and families. The fact that one decision can save or dramatically improve multiple lives is powerful, and he is committed to supporting organizations focused on education, awareness, and action around that reality.
