Realbuzz Running Series

CKF Run Team - Realbuzz Running

We’ve teamed up with charity running partner Realbuzz to offer you the chance to run in support of Team CKF in a number of world-famous marathons and half-marathon events. You’ll get full fundraising support and ideas throughout your journey, plus an exclusive charity champion finisher pack, courtesy of Realbuzz.

This is the perfect opportunity to become involved with CKF and show your support for organ, eye, and tissue donation. Participants are responsible for covering the costs of traveling to the event and accommodating themselves. CKF will not attend the events in person but will offer support in the lead-up.

Meet Team CKF for Realbuzz 2026

  • Kim Levin - Berlin Marathon

Kim is proud to represent the CKF in the Berlin Marathon this September!

As an Emergency Physician, she has seen firsthand the life-saving treatments of organ transplantation. Over the years, Kim has had many patients undergo the process and has been deeply inspired by their incredible courage and the science and medicine behind organ transplants.

Educating the public about organ donation and how to be a donor is a critical piece of this process and is central to the Chris Klug Foundation’s mission. She passionately stands behind the CKF’s mission, which makes this marathon so special for her. Kim’s last road marathon was 20 years ago! When she ran Boston and then NYC and loved the experiences. Now she is back and couldn’t be more excited to be on the CKF team and part of the CKF family!

  • Lissa Ballinger - Berlin Marathon

For the last 12 years, Lissa has been part of a spirited, dedicated weekly women's run group. This year, a few of us 'Running Bunnies' decided to run a marathon to raise money for the Chris Klug Foundation.

CKF is a national nonprofit that educates about the importance of organ, eye, & tissue donation. Chris is a friend of Lissa and a daily inspiration, and she is honored to be working to raise awareness of our cause in support of organ, eye & tissue donation. This will be her first-ever road marathon, and it will take place in September in Berlin.

  • May Selby - Berlin Marathon

May Selby loves and lives to run. Whether she’s training with her Wednesday Run Club, running solo to high-energy EDM, sprinting on a treadmill at Barry’s, or trail running around spectacular Colorado, running is a constant.

To date, May has completed 48 marathons, including 5 of the 7 World Marathon Majors. This fall in Berlin, and next spring in Tokyo, she will "finish the circle" and earn the prestigious Six-Star Medal. While the miles are a personal challenge, the purpose behind them is what truly fuels May.

She is running in solidarity with the Chris Klug Foundation (CKF) to champion the imperative mission of organ and tissue donation. Please consider donating to May’s fundraising page as she prepares for the BMW Berlin Marathon. Every contribution, no matter the size, is 100% tax-deductible and goes directly toward CKF’s life saving work.

  • Teagan Walter - Tokyo Marathon

Teagan is a living donor who donated her kidney to a stranger in 2021.

Post-donation, Teagan started running for three reasons. She was inspired by the donation process and seeing what her body was capable of. She also wanted to answer the question she kept getting of "can you live a normal life with one kidney?" And she wanted to raise money and awareness for organizations that are making a difference in improving outcomes for people with kidney disease.

Despite believing pre-donation that she would never be able to run any sort of race, she ran her first marathon in 2024, fundraising for the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois. She also ran a 200-mile relay race that same year, on a team comprised entirely of kidney donors and recipients, to raise awareness about kidney donation.

In 2025, Teagan ran both the Berlin and NYC Marathons with Team CKF, and in 2026 is running Cape Town with them, excited to support an organization that she has a personal connection with. Having grown up in Aspen, CO, she followed Chris Klug's journey through organ transplantation while she lived there.

  • Jessi Rochel - Tokyo Marathon

Jessi is on a mission to complete the Abbott World Marathon Majors! She has completed NYC, Berlin, Sydney, and Chicago, with plans to complete London and Cape Town in 2026!

Jessi has been a registered organ donor since her teens, is a member of the bone marrow and blood stem cell registry with NMDP, and one of her favorite things to do is to donate blood. She has also been the Executive Director of the Chris Klug Foundation since October 2022.

Organ donation is quite literally close to her heart as her father received a life-saving heart transplant in 2015. In addition to honoring donors and transplant recipients through her racing and work, she is here to represent the caregivers, too, including her mom, who are also heroes in the community.

In her free time, Jessi loves to spend time with her rescue kitty, Bergi. She also enjoys reading, comfort rewatching her favorites TV series and movies, most all things athletic, and traveling. She is a runner, biker, swimmer, skier, hiker, and racer (participant, not competitor).

This will be her 4th time as a member of the CKF Run Team, having previously participated for NYC, Sydney, & Cape Town!
