Josh Schwerdt

Josh Schwerdt is an educator, coach, and advocate whose life has been shaped by resilience, service, and a deep commitment to helping others. Alongside his wife, Tara, and oldest son, Atticus, Josh has navigated an extraordinary journey with their son, Lockett, who was born with nonfunctioning kidneys, and received a life-saving kidney transplant at 17 months old from his mother, Tara. Their family’s experience inspired Josh to become a passionate voice for organ donation awareness, family support, and living with gratitude and purpose. That journey has led him to run the New York City Marathon in support of the National Kidney Foundation, and participate in multiple speaking engagements focused on resilience, hope, and the power of organ donation.

Professionally, Josh has spent more than two decades in education and athletics, dedicating himself to mentoring students and building strong communities both inside and outside the classroom. He is honored to serve on the Board of Directors for the Chris Klug Foundation, and is committed to advancing its mission of promoting organ, eye, and tissue donation through education, inspiration, and advocacy.
